They outline the eligibility criteria, application procedures, and selection process, enabling individuals and entities to participate with a clear understanding of the requirements. The guidelines specify various types of distributorships such as urban, rural, and remote area dealers, each with distinct norms regarding infrastructure, investment, and operational responsibilities.

The selection process is carried out through the official LPG Vitarak Chayan portal, which publishes location-wise advertisements and invites online applications. Applicants must fulfill criteria such as age, education, financial capacity, and land availability. The guidelines also include reservation norms for different categories like SC/ST, OBC, women, and freedom fighters, promoting inclusiveness. The system incorporates a draw of lots or a merit-based evaluation, depending on the location category, to finalize the selection.
